EcoPlanet Bamboo is leading the commercialization of bamboo as a sustainable alternative fiber for some of the world’s largest industries.
Headquartered in the United States and Kenya, we operate across Latin America, Africa and South East Asia.
EcoPlanet Bamboo is leading the industrialization of bamboo as a viable and environmentally attractive alternative fiber. The conversion of degraded land into certified bamboo farms and bamboo plantations is coupled with investment into development of innovative technology to provide turnkey solutions for products and markets that currently contribute to the deforestation of our world’s natural forests.
EcoPlanet Bamboo has spent almost a decade developing bamboo plantations in carefully selected strategic locations to feed global markets. This resource base provides a secure long term supply of bamboo fiber at a scale that can transform target industries.
EcoPlanet Bamboo is focused on an initial transformation of global paper and packaging markets through the provision of tree-free, deforestation-free product lines that can meet the highest standards of sustainability across the entire supply chain, from seed to sale.
EcoPlanet Bamboo has pioneered the application of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC)® Forest Management certification for bamboo. Ensuring that bamboo fiber and associated end products are certified with a standard that consumers are familiar with and understand plays a critical role in disrupting existing pulp and paper supply chains.
EcoPlanet’s Nicaragua Bamboo Farms held FSC Forest Management Certification on a 5 year certificate from 2013-2017. This license will be reapplied for once these plantations are ready for harvesting.
