Eesome’ is an obsolete English word meaning ‘Pleasant on the eye’
Eesome is an online store offering curated vintage smalls for the modern home and conscious consumer. All items on the site are second-hand, and most are sourced from within Europe. As people are becoming more conscious of how their spending habits affect the world around us, we offer an alternative to shopping mass-produced, with no compromise on price, and often with improved quality.
We strive to make it as easy to shop second-hand as to shop newly made. Sourcing vintage takes time that people don’t always have, so we provide a refined selection of homeware to make it easier and quicker to choose the vintage option. Our main aim is to encourage people to invest in second-hand goods, helping to pre-long the life of items and adding to a circular economy rather than a waste economy.
We must be conscious of how we spend our money and the knock-on effect it has. By changing our consumer behaviour and taking time and consideration over the items we purchase, buying for quality and longevity, we can make small changes to minimise waste and maximise the life of the items we buy. And fill our homes with beautiful and truly unique pieces in the process.
Shopping secondhand is actively choosing to support a small independent supply chain. Most of our items are bought through charities or individual traders who make a living from these purchases. The money you spend feeds back into small communities, rather than getting lost in large companies.
When you buy second-hand, you are re-investing in materials and resources that have already been used. No matter how ethically or sustainably made a new item is, buying second-hand will always be the best option in terms of the environment, creating very little demand on the world’s resources.
The vintage homeware we select is of a much higher quality than modern, mass-produced items. Many of the items have been handmade by craftsmen using natural materials and traditional methods.
We work regularly with trade and private clients to source vintage pieces for a range of projects.
