The story of Wuxly Movement began in 2012…

The vision for Wuxly Movement first came in 2012 when pro-football player, James Yurichuk moved back to Toronto from the West Coast. He needed to get his girlfriend, Daniela, her first winter coat as James wanted her to stay in the frozen forest of Toronto with him while she was immigrating from Brazil. In his search for the perfect parka James could not find anything that matched his values.

Noticing the quality of Canadian made jackets, James saw an opportunity to evolve from Canada’s rich manufacturing heritage by utilizing innovative and sustainable fabrics while peacefully leaving animals out of the equation.

James approached his best friend, Anthony DeBartolo, a Master Tailor to help him with style and fit. Together they created the first Wuxly parka to keep Daniela warm. Today, James and Anthony continue to make jackets together to enable people to live warm in both body and soul.

As for the question if the parka worked or not… it is safe to say it kept Daniela very warm as she ended up staying and gave James her hand in marriage.

Together, we can do better and we can be better to help our planet. We are committed to ethically making our apparel in Canada and benefiting everyone involved. From initial design to final product you can be sure each garment lives up to our standards for quality, craftsmanship and warmth. Join us in our movement to #LiveWarm through every action and interaction.

Our Movement

We are responsible for constantly evolving to be better for humanity and our planet. Our commitment to sustainability starts with our products. We source the latest environmentally-friendly and accredited materials that are BlueSign approved so that our products are long lasting and not causing harm to our environment. Together with local manufacturing in Canada, we are able to decrease our carbon footprint and minimize pollution. It is our movement to be better than before for future generations.

Our commitment to local manufacturing enables us to partner with experts in our community and ensure they receive the Wuxly warmth. We work with manufacturers and suppliers that are mainly from Canada because we support Canadians. Being made in Canada ensures that the Canadian experts who are making our apparel are receiving Canadian wages, have a safe work environment, and are being treated with respect and warmth. The people who make our apparel are just as important as those who wear our products.

We are dedicated to rebuilding our national tradition of craftsmanship and quality within Canada. Our Canadian apparel is crafted with care by Canadian experts and designed to last for years to come (see our Warmth Guarantee). It’s our focus to make innovatively designed and stylish modern classics fit for any climate.

From the beginning we have been dedicated to peacefully leave animals out of our products. Through the use of technology and innovation we have made super warm coats without harming animals. While Canadian parkas traditionally use fur and feathers to insulate their parkas, at Wuxly we are committed to using sustainable materials without compromising heat and keeping our products Canadian made.

By wearing a Wuxly jacket, you are telling the world that you believe in a better future for your planet and its people.

Our Canadian-made parkas are insulated with the best goose-down alternative on the market. The insulation that we use is called PrimaLoft® Gold and it provides the ultimate warmth-to-weight ratio with breathability. In a Wuxly Parka, you will feel your warmest without the extra bulk like goose down. PrimaLoft® Gold even outperforms down insulation when wet because it is water-resistant, so you stay warmer and drier.

Beyond the warmth, PrimaLoft® Gold is made from 55% post consumer recycled content. Our parkas are animal friendly, cruelty free, vegan, call it what you want, but animals are peacefully left out of Wuxly Movement. Great! Now your conscience and your body both feel warm all winter long!
